After a few years of creating these images of Peterbilts with Agnes Olech, here is the 1st comprehensive published editorial of this work. As you may know, Peterbilt made this idea famous starting back in the 1960s when they were selling an idea of “Class” to the owner/operator. They made calendars and magazine ads by photographing an elegantly dressed woman in front of their trucks. After coming across these images years ago, I decided to bring this idea back and knew just the actress to cast. Agnes Olech has an “Old Hollywood” look about her and my stylist Lindsey Dupuis has a great eye for vintage inspired, modern designed dresses. Please keep a look out for a couple 2013 calendars featuring my photography and production coming out soon.
After much anticipation, the 1st edition of the Chrome and Elegance Calendar is finally here.I teamed up with Carl at Rockwood Products Inc and Tim Ludwig to make this calendar happen. It features 13 different rigs with actress Agnes Olech in a studio environment. For more info please check the the website hereMake sure you get yours order now as there are limited supplies and this one is bound to become collectors edition.
Chrome and Elegance is a retro inspired big rig calendar that lends itself to the look of film. The 2019 edition, currently being shot, will be the 1st to be shot using color film since starting the project 6 years ago. Using avail light with a reflector and the least amount crew members, this will be the most fun to shoot yet. This shot was made at the Leaping Deer Ranch in Las Vegas New Mexico on a 19 degree morning. What a pro Agnes was to be able to deal with the cold and still make it look easy!

The 2 page story includes a contest to win one of 6 calendars. Here is a word from Simon the editor from a Facebook post:
Roger Snider, one of America’s best custom truck photographers, has made it his personal mission to deliver one of the most stunning truck calendars available for 2014. His latest iteration of the calendar returns us to the days of Peterbilt’s Class advertisements which used to grace the back of America magazines
Here are a few shots from the show in Texas a few weeks ago. You can preview and buy the Peterbilt “Class Pays” Display Show book by clicking here
There were over 30 Peterbilts in attendance and over 5000 people at the open house. This is the only factory in North America where Long Haul Peterbilt trucks are built. I will leave you with this aerial shot of the factory.
Its was a pleasure to land the cover of France’s premiere Trucking Industry Magazine.
The story includes details about my vision for the shoot with Agnes Olech on the cover. Its Peterbilt’s 75th anniversary next year. This calendar pays homage to Peterbilt’s “Class Pays” campaign that included beautifully styled women with trucks from over 5 decades of design. Victoria Barabas, who I met on TV shoot for Dos XX last year, is the new actress featured this year seen here in the lower left.
Look for even bigger things from the 2015 edition of Chrome and Elegance!
I am shooting the 6th year of the Chrome and Elegance calendar featuring classic trucks and beautiful women in classy attire. The 2019 edition will be all captured on film with minimal post production in order to give it a retro look. In between advertising shoots, I select the fashion in LA with each model for 2 shots each which means I usually bring 5 to six looks as I like to create alt shots for Social Media and promotion that will not be the final look used in the calendar. I shoot Kodak Portra using a Nikon 4s and Mamiya 7II camera systems usually hand held during Golden Hour. I was inspired by the ads Peterbilt made in the 70s and 80s and hope to publish a book one day of my top slects from over the years. Please enjoy these images from 1 of the set ups I did at Leaping Deer Ranch in Las Vegas New Mexico this January with Agnes and Jack’s 1969 Daycab.
